Digitalab are delighted to welcome York Place Studios to Newcastle this September. Bringing their unique and off-beat, street-inspired documentary wedding photography style to the North East in a special one-day masterclass for photographers looking to shoot weddings NOT like wedding photography.

Multi-award-winning York Place photographic duo Dominique and Liam Shaw are renowned for their unique outlook and approach to wedding photography. Both devout Street Photography enthusiasts, their street-infused wedding work and complex people-orientated layered composition has brought a new style of documentary photography to the wedding world whilst their street photography itself has been shared in multiple publications around the world.

This one-off masterclass aims to help wedding photographers to break through the baseline and bring some bite to their documentary photography as well as focusing on how to achieve consistent quality throughout the wedding day.

The 1-day workshop will cover a broad range of topics, with a particular focus on:

• Composition and layering

• Consistency throughout a wedding

• Finding interest in the ‘off-moments’

• Getting it right in camera, not in post

• Finding and advancing your individual vision and voice

There will also be an opportunity to have your work critiqued by Liam and Dominique and receive valuable input into your own style and how you might be able to diversify your imagery.

The day will culminate in an exclusive tour of Digitalab where participants will have the opportunity to experience the intricate production process behind Digitalab’s stunning prints and products.

Lunch and refreshments will also be provided throughout the day. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements you may have when booking your ticket.
