How to Re-Market to Past Clients for Beautiful Wall Art Sales
How to Re-Market to Past Clients for Beautiful Wall Art Sales
This strategy worked during one of our darkest industry moments because it combined heart, creativity and genuine service.
Today, it works simply because it honours relationships and celebrates the power of printed photography.
Reconnect. Inspire. Offer value.
Your clients will thank you and your business will too.
Trigger Warning: Covid.
Back in November 2020, the photography community faced a chapter none of us will forget. Studios were quiet, Christmas sessions were cancelled and uncertainty hung in the air like a winter fog. It was emotional, overwhelming and for many photographers, financially frightening.
Yet out of that bleak season came one of the most engaging and well received campaigns we have seen here at the lab.
We encouraged photographers to reconnect with their past clients. Not with a hard sell. Not with pressure. But with something meaningful. A gentle nudge reminding people of the most important thing during that time: their loved ones.

Using ProSelect, photographers created beautiful mockups of their clients’ photographs in our frames and shared them with families who had previously not invested in wall art. And the result?
Clients had the chance to give deeply personal gifts at a time when connection mattered more than ever. Photographers made sales on work they had already created, helping them continue to earn even while their studios were closed.
It was a movement driven by creativity, resilience and community spirit.
And here’s the thing… the idea still works brilliantly today.
We do not have to be in lockdown for it to be valuable.
Why past clients are your most powerful opportunity
We often chase new bookings, but there is absolute magic in re-engaging people who already know and love your work. They had a wonderful experience, they adore their images and now they simply need a little inspiration to enjoy them in a new way.
Re-marketing to past clients is one of the most cost-effective and impactful strategies you can use.
They trust you
They value what you create
They already have portraits ready to transform into wall art
You are not starting from scratch. You are building on a relationship that already exists.

How to make this strategy work for you now
Here is a simple step-by-step plan you can start this week:
1. Make a list of clients from the past 12–24 months
Focus on sessions where:
They purchased digitals only
They ordered a small selection but not wall art
They mentioned wanting to order more “later”

2. Create a few personalised mockups
Use ProSelect (free 30-day trial available) to drop their favourite images into one or two of your frame styles.
Keep it personal and thoughtful, not salesy. Alternatively, you can simply build your mockups within our ordering system, screen grab and crop the product and drop into a roomset in Canva or Photoshop. Super quick and easy!

3. Send a warm, friendly message
A genuine “I came across your photos again and was reminded how special they are” is the perfect opener. Offer ideas for gifting or home updates. Make it feel personal, not mass-market.
4. Create urgency without pressure
This could be:
Limited seasonal pricing
Free delivery
Complimentary design consultation
“Beat the Christmas rush” reminder
Small incentives go a long way when paired with your beautiful mockups.
5. Include your frame previews
