You have seven stunning paper finishes to choose from for your print entries allowing even more creative freedom when planning your perfect submission.
A stunning, natural photographic finish with subtle colours and a slightly stippled texture. The Lustre option is a very versatile paper, working well with all photographic images.
Beautiful colour representation and incredibly detailed in highlights and shadow areas. Due to its lack of a sheen (unlike Gloss Papers) it makes the perfect choice for album prints as it avoids any additional glare and is less easily marked by fingerprints.
The Gloss finish of this paper accentuates the colours of your image, giving a punchy, rich feel. When compared to the Lustre it produces a higher contrast in your work with a vivid, glossy finish which is perfect for high impact work.
HD Maxima has been specially designed for outstanding high-end prints. The high definition precision with which your images details are reproduced is clear to see, even in the darkest, most shadow rich areas of your photo. The paper boasts the deepest blacks available on the market along with cleaner, more distinct images with a perfect, natural whiteness.
The HD Maxima also boasts the highest lifespan of any other professional photographic paper produced with a 40% increase in the longevity of the print compared to standard papers, ensuring your album will remain as beautiful in 50 years as it is today.
Our Metallic Prints are printed on Fujifilm Pearl paper. Sharp and vibrant, it has been praised for whiter than white highlights, vibrant colour reproduction and superb shadow detail.
Fujifilm Crystal Archive DP II Pearl is a silver halide paper that contains pearl mica pigments and metal oxides which combine to give purer whites and sharper, better defined highlights. It also helps to create this papers distinctive metallic sheen.
Velvet’s coating has a zero-reflective top layer which creates a stunningly soft and deep-matte effect whilst protecting the print from fingerprints much more than standard photographic or Fine Art papers. This makes it perfect for competition prints which are likely to be handled and images that require no shine or reflections at all.
This paper offers a very soft, sensual feel and touch, with deep, beautiful colour representation. As a professional photographer you can present your photos in a creative and innovative way – this paper turns your photos into fine art.
The Omega Rag is a 100% cotton rag paper with an enhanced whiter 310gsm base.
This acid-free, smooth matt paper upholds the appearance of high-key detail and colours to an exceptional standard. It has a high colour gamut volume and excellent ability to return a smooth gradation of skin tones or highly detailed information.
It is extremely suitable for images that exhibit a lot of shadow detail and wide colour spectrum making – the ideal partner for a fine art image in monochrome on a cotton base.
This inkjet paper has been developed with a natural base tint to emulate the surface finish, texture and coating of traditional darkroom baryta/fibre based papers.
The smooth gloss coating has been applied directly onto a true baryta layer and fibre base enabling its users to create intense, velvety blacks and subtle, creamy whites – the perfect combination for outstanding portraiture and landscape reproductions, whether in monochrome or colour.
A 100% cotton rag paper with a classically smooth matt finish and a highly calendered surface.
Its 285gsm, acid-free base is perfect for archival standard fine art photography reproductions or high key portraiture.
Smooth skintone detail is a particular feature of this media whether you use pigment or dye inks. Its medium white base coating produces excellent tonal definition, Dmax and wide colour gamut.
The super matt and smooth surface of the Hahnemüle Photorag, coupled with its chalky white finish makes this paper one of our most popular papers amongst our photographers. The paper gives excellent detail with muted blacks and even colour reproduction.
The surface has an incredibly subtle texture with a smooth feel, helping to create smooth colour gradients. This is a very popular choice of paper for exhibitions and print competition work.
German Etch is a very heavyweight paper with a strong mottled texture giving any print or artwork a handmade, crafted feel. It has a slightly warm base tone with strong colours and deep blacks that give your image a rich, high contrast finish.
The German Etching is one of our heavier weight Giclée art printing papers that will feel amazing in your client’s hands.
Hahnemühle Baryta sets the benchmark for high colour depth, large colour gamut and image definition. The paper is perfect for high contrast images, as well as fluorescent and vivid colours.
This lustre finish paper gives your images the “wow” factor with the Baryta base creating whiter whites and deeper, richer blacks. Black and white images with extremely high density and fine grey tones as well as highly saturated colour images work particularly well with this finish.
Choose from a range of pre-set layouts
As standard all of our matted competition prints come with a single, archival and acid-free mount option in any of the colours above.
A window mount for your image serves two purposes; they help prevent the photograph from rubbing and damage in transit whilst also creating a visual space between the subject matter and the frame, allowing your image to breath within the mount and drawing the viewers eye into the print.
A double mount consists of two pieces of mountboard, laid one on top of the other, with one cut slightly larger than the other leaving a subtle contrasting line around the image being framed and a ‘stepped’ effect.
Choosing a double cut mount for your print is more of an aesthetic choice with competitions and must be a considered process. It can create a more dramatic and eye – catching finish to a single mount however you want to be certain that it suits your image and presentation style.
As well as ordering your prints from Digitalab, its vital that you also book your entries with the Societies. Book your prints in HERE
